“Next!” Evangel said moving on to the next part of her homework.
“Next!” I said as we were sorting through the papers on the table. Her hands stilled.
“Did you just copy me?” Evangel asked incredulous. I paused for a second, thought about it and realized that I did copy her.
“Yeah I did. I’m sorry,” I said with an apologetic voice.
“It’s okay,” Evangel said with a small smile. “Santa will still bring you presents. Not toys, but nanny toys.”
It took all of my self control to not laugh so with my best serious voice I could muster I said, “Oh well that’s good.”
I’m relieved to know that Santa will still be bringing me toys, not just any toys but nanny toys.
